Earlier this month we went along to our second local Crop Swap.
These were new to us this year, but we’re definitely converts.
The inevitable harvest time surpluses are always a challenge for preserving and dehydrating. So what better than being able to swap some of that surplus for some of the things you don’t have or didn’t grow this year?
Crop Swaps allow people to share their surplus, and pick up some goodies to take home. From veggies, fruits and herbs, to home baked goods, jams, eggs and honey, gardening tools and magazines.

At our first crop swap some of our excess courgettes turned into turkey, guinea fowl and quail eggs!
You don’t need to bring lots, just bring something, give generously and take mindfully.
And make new friends too!
We’re already looking forward to our first local Crop Swap of 2020 next spring.
If there is not one in your area, why not start one yourself!
