The rotavator man cometh!

Since moving to The Secret Acre, on the principal of cash poor, time rich, Paul has dug over the veg patches each spring, having never quite managed yet to get our ‘no dig’ act together sufficiently.

However, with the arrival this year of a “significant birthday” and an ever more tired back, we finally succumbed to the offer of trying out a neighbour’s rotavator.

It’s been a revelation! Not only did it do eight days work in three hours, annoyingly, it also did a better job of preparing the tilth for sowing.

Fair to say, we are now fully born again rotavators. Turns out we simply should have paid more attention to our original inspiration source material – The Good Life! We even used it to finally create a new fourth bed, a dedicated patch for Emma’s dahlia collection. So result all round.
