FASTER-SCRIPT-1Welcome to Fastershire said the postcard through the door recently, announcing that our local phone cabinet has finally been wired up for the prospect of faster rural broadband!

See what they did there? Nice.

Regular readers will know that it’s taken a while, over a year in fact, for BT/Openreach to meet their four month promise to do the work, during which time we’ve been through several iterations of corporate non-speak,  but credit where credit is due… finally.

Exactly how much faster Fastershire will prove to be after it still arrives down several miles of phone line from the Cabinet in town remains to be seen.

So watch this space for news soon on how much our current 1.8Mb/s Download and 0.4 Mb/s Upload speeds have improved once we’ve upgraded!
